Successful Implementation Delivered On-time
and with Complete Budget Predictability

Santa Rosa Consulting, Inc., a leading provider of management consulting and information technology services for the healthcare industry, and a MEDITECH READY-Certified firm, announced today that Lawrence General Hospital, a leading not-for-profit provider of superior and comprehensive healthcare services, has successfully completed the implementation of the MEDITECH Expanse system, meeting established project timelines and objectives.

Dianne Anderson, RN, President and CEO of Lawrence General Hospital observes, “Our robust new electronic health record marks an incredibly important milestone in Lawrence General Hospital’s history and I’m thankful for the leadership from the hospital’s multidisciplinary team, MEDITECH and Santa Rosa Consulting for their focus, forethought and dedication to detail.”  Anderson added, “the planning steps we have accomplished, and our thoughtful training, education and support have prepared Lawrence General well for this momentous event.”

“The implementation of an EHR technology platform is a complex and challenging endeavor that requires the strong commitment of many, coupled with rigorous dedication to achieve success,” said Mike Ragan, president of Santa Rosa Consulting. “Our dedicated team is especially proud to have been a part of this successful journey with Lawrence General Hospital, and for their trust in our ability to deliver results that were not only on-time and within budget, but also under an innovative contractual fixed fee arrangement”.

Santa Rosa began working with Lawrence General over 24 months ago to assist with identifying the right system to support their clinical, operational and IT needs. Upon selecting MEDITECH Expanse, the teams worked closely to develop the implementation plan and budgets to deliver success for both its acute and ambulatory practices.

“We are pleased to meet our scheduled Go-LIVE commitment and to take full advantage of the MEDITECH Expanse capability,” said Felix Mercado, Lawrence General CFO and project sponsor.  “Having a READY partner budget, backed by a contractual commitment, allowed us to better focus on the project at hand. A change like this touches every hospital department and the planning, preparation and education, combined with the care staff’s engagement through Go-LIVE, made this conversion a success.”

Mark Scruggs, executive vice president at Santa Rosa added, “Delivering MEDITECH Expanse projects, under a fixed fee arrangement, was the logical progression for Santa Rosa. Our years of delivering proven on-time and within budget value, through an experienced team and enhanced project management processes, allowed us to bet on ourselves. Cost predictability is paramount to today’s Health System executives, so our ability to offer this alternative to the market is vital, as many health systems are being asked to do more with less.”

Lawrence General is one of several Massachusetts healthcare providers Santa Rosa has partnered with for MEDITECH implementation services, making the firm one of the top EHR implementation consultants in the state.
