RN, MS, CPHIMS, is an experienced healthcare and information technology professional with 30 plus years experience. Karen has held positions as Cardiovascular Clinical Nurse Specialist, Director of Critical Care/Emergency Nursing, Director Clinical Information Systems, Chief Information Officer, Executive Director for Superior Consultant, Inc, and Solutions Director for a vendor-consulting group over the course of her career. She has participated as Project Director in a variety of clinical and business systems from different vendors of healthcare information solutions. Karen has participated in the build and opening of two major healthcare facilities and led one Critical Care unit design team. As CIO for a system in Michigan, she was responsible for the strategic planning and execution of the information systems plan to consolidate and enhance the clinical system practice environment for the clinicians in the system. Prior to joining Santa Rosa, she had concentrated in the area of clinical workflow and transformation and participated in a major Electronic Health Record project to implement the Eclipsys solutions for two major academic clients. She has a proven track record of success in each position she has held and nothing but satisfied clients as a consultant. Karen has degrees from the University of Michigan and the University of Utah.
